Mexican White Cheese Dip/Sauce Recipe
Creamy and spicy, this cheese and green chili queso can be used as a dip for tortilla chips or as a sauce.
I don't know why people had issues with this recipe. My husband wanted to Make a quasedea burger and wanted the sauce they serve at Mexican restaurants. I found this recipe, got a few ingredients I did not have and threw it together like it says to do. I used yellow American cheese not individually wrapped and I only made 1/4 of the recipe, since I did not need much. It was awesome!!
I have the same problem other people had it just separated for some reason. It actually started out like it was going to be a good dip. I tasted it and it was good (Halved the season, I would 1/4th is next time). I was just heating it up and put it into a bowl and just like that is seem like the milk and cheese was separating. I had a soup and the cheese started to get back together. Idk, I went to the deli and got a block of american white cheese. per the recommendation of getting the right cheese. But it didn't work.
Very good! I did make a couple changes. Used half the recommended garlic and omited the onion because we were out. Found the white american cheese at the deli. Came out perfectly! For those having difficulties this is one of those things you can't rush. I cooked it on low (1 to 2) on my glass top, it took a good 30min to melt perfectly smooth.
I used exactly what the recipe called for - white america cheese. In fact, I could only find it in individually wrapped slices and the end result was fantastic. I will say that during the stirring and adding more milk I probably used double of what the recipe called for and added some more spices to account for that. I'm making it again this weekend and plan to be a little heavier handed with the spices to begin with since I know I'll be adding more milk than it originally called for. Either way, this is a SUPER easy and SUPER tasty white cheese dip recipe. Thanks for sharing!!
Better than what I've had at restaurants.
