One-Pot Ham and Veggie Pasta Recipe
This one-pot meal is the perfect way to use up leftover ham for a weeknight pasta dinner. It's creamy, comforting, and quick-and-easy.
Really enjoyed this recipe especially the sauce. Of note I was cooking for 2 so I cut all ingredients in half and wound up with 3 good sized adult servings. I used regular half and half cream (not low fat) and penne pasta because I didn't have bow tie. The only thing I would do differently next time is leave the sauce amounts as called for in the recipe as I needed to add in my half size version. I believe this would also be good with chicken but certainly a great way to use left over ham.
We did not care for this. It's a small step below hamburger helper for ham. Smaller pasta might have helped but I did use diced ham that was prepackaged and perhaps real left over ham would have helped with flavor. I also used freshly steamed peas and carrots. Each of us ate one small bowl and threw the rest of the pan in the garbage
Great comfort food... I don't understand why more cooks don't use ham soup base (versus a chicken stock)... like "Better Than Bouillon" (although there are others). If you are making something with ham... why not?
Followed the recipe as written, except only used half the among of onion. We really enjoyed it. I will definitely make it again. Thanks
I was missing so many ingredients but I made it do with what I had. Whole milk instead of half and half. Asparagus instead of carrots and peas. Chicken bullion instead of broth. Lol! But it still tasted good. Finally used up leftover ham from Xmas. 1st 2020 goal. Check!!
I used fresh carrots and broccoli instead of frozen peas and carrots. I didn't have Italian seasoning on hand, so I just sprinkled some parsley, basil, and oregano instead.
